X|ZERO FAQ'S

1How does the X|ZERO connect to other drivers?
Using the DMX/AVRBUS port you can connect to the DMX/AVRBUS INPUT of your desired expansion unit, Once you have linked to your first expansion unit you can then link the OUTPUT of that expansion unit to the INPUT of your next expansion unit. Repeat this process to connect multiple expansion units. Expansion units (X2, X3, X4)

X1 FAQ'S

1How do I connect my X1 driver to other units?
Using the DMX/AVRBUS port you can connect to the DMX/AVRBUS INPUT of your desired expansion unit, Once you have linked to your first expansion unit you can then link the OUTPUT of that expansion unit to the INPUT of your next expansion unit. Repeat this process to connect multiple expansion units. Expansion units (X2, X3, X4)
2How many expansion units can I add to the X1?
The X1 acts as a "Master" driver, we recommend a maximum of 8 expansion units per X1, these expansion units can be all the same or a mix of the X2 / X3 / X4 depending on what you require. If more than 8 expansion units are required you can then add another master driver (X|ZERO / X1).
3Can I use my X1 without using Artnet?
Yes - If your project does not require the use of Artnet you can go into the display settings and switch this function OFF. You can then use the DMX only output whilst still linking to expansion drivers. You will then need to set a DMX address for each expansion unit in the X1 Display function settings.
4How much LED Strip can be run from the X1 LED Strip outputs?
Depending on what you're running it can vary, the maximum wattage you can pull from each LED Strip output is 75W. As this driver uses power balance mode which converts the wattage down to a quarter of its true value this allows you to run 4 times as much LED Strip. Examples: (15M X 20W RGB/W LED Strip) (20M X 4.8W White LED Strip).
5How many Down Lights can I run from each X1 Down Light output?
Depending on the wattage of the LED Downlights you are using it can vary, the maximum wattage you can pull from each 30W. Examples: (6 X 4.8W LED Downlights per output) (2 X 14.4W LED Downlights per output).
6Is there a maximum wattage I can put on each X1 mains output?
The maximum wattage per output is determined by the amperage being pulled from each output. Each output is 13 Amp rated. Amperage Calculation: (Wattage divided by 240V = Amperage) Example: 1000W ÷ 240V = 4.16Amp. We recommend not exceeding 1500W per output.
7Can I link more than one X1 together?
Yes - It is possible to link more than one X1 together, you would need to have a Network Switch to output ARTNET to the desired X1 units.
8Can I purchase an unbranded X1?
Yes - If you would like to purchase an X1 unit unbranded, we can take our logo on both screen print and display off and replace with your own logo if desired.

X2 FAQ'S

1What is the maximum distance my LED Strip input cable can be?
Your input cable from the X2 LED Strip output to your LED Strip can vary in length depending on the cable size. Using standard 0.5mm cable we would advise going no more than 15 meters. Using 1mm cable you can go upto 20 meters.
2Does returning the power from the end of my LED Strip matter?
Depending on the length of your LED Strip determines whether or not it is necessary to return to the power. As a guide line any length over 10 meters would require a return cable to the driver to keep all the LED's a consistent colour.
3How do I switch the indication LED's off?
Using the display in your master driver (X|ZERO / X1) hold down ENTER until you gain access the functions menu, using the UP or DOWN scroll through to "INDICATION LED'S" and press SELECT. Using the UP or DOWN you will now be able to scroll to OFF, press SELECT and then ENTER to exit the "INDICATION LED'S" function and save your settings. Finally hold down ENTER until you exit the functions menu.
4How do I return the power from my LED Strip?
To return the power back the X2 driver LED Strip output, connect each core from your end of LED Strip cable into the correct terminal port of your green phoenix connector. Your green phoenix should then have 2 wires in (R), 2 wires in (G), 2 wires in (B), 2 wires in (W) If RGBW & 2 wires in (+).
5How much LED Strip can be run from the X2 LED Strip outputs?
Each LED Strip output has the capability to run 75 Watts of LED Strip, Using our power balance software you can run upto 15 meters of 19.2W RGBW, this is because our power balance software limits down all the colour to allow for consistent colour across the length whilst also allowing you to power more LED Strip per output.
Example 1: 19.2W RGBW (19.2W ÷ RGBW [4 Colours] = 4.8W) 4.8W x 15 Meters = 72W.
Example 2: 10W White (10W ÷ White [1 Colour] = 10W) 10W x 7 Meters = 70W.
6Can I connect the X2 to other expansion units?
Yes - providing you are using a (X|ZERO, X1) as the master driver, you can then add multiple expansion units (X2 , X3 , X4).
7How many X2's can I run from the master unit (X|ZERO, X1)?
We recommend a maximum of 8 expansion units per X|ZERO / X1, these expansion units can be all the same or a mix of the X2 / X3 / X4 depending on what you require. If more than 8 expansion units are required you can then add another master driver (X|ZERO / X1).
